In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Irvine; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in California are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 am–9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (949) 932-0120. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, tigawok.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 212 reviews, which is a strong result for a chinese restaurant in Irvine and suggests consistent service.

I was in the neighborhood and wanted something small but tasty and not too unhealthy. I ordered the Kung Pao bowl and a side of rice. It was under $10 and totally worth it. Clean taste, not greasy or salty. It was probably the best Kung pao I've had in California.

If you're looking for a place that hits *all* the taste buds without hitting your wallet—especially these days—this is the spot. The concept is super fun: start by choosing your base (white rice, chow mein, or their special wagyu curry rice), then build your plate with a huge variety of mains and veggie sides. The curry beef, orange chicken, chow mein, and eggplant dishes were some of my favorites, but honestly there’s something here for every type of eater. The best part is getting to build exactly what you want. The portions are generous too—definitely shareable if you’re with friends. The space itself is vibrant, welcoming, and really clean. The staff are friendly and super helpful, especially when explaining how the ordering process works. One last detail I appreciated: the to-go containers. It’s clear the owners put thought into the little things. The eco-friendly bowls are sturdy, and the lids snap on perfectly—great quality for taking leftovers home.

Went here after my wife saw it on TikTok and wanted to try it mainly because of all the gluten free options they offer. I did a pickup order for dinner and when I got there there was a huge line out the door which immediately made me think ok this place must be good. And it was. I was honestly really impressed by the quality. Everything tasted fresh and cooked right then and there not frozen or reheated like you sometimes get at other fast casual spots. We ordered the gluten free orange chicken for my wife and she absolutely loved it did not even let me have a bite and ate the entire thing herself. Great zest great punch exactly what she was hoping for. For myself I ordered the shiitake pepper chicken and kung pao chicken both of which had a serious kick but amazing flavor. The guy helping me I believe his name was Kevin was super patient and kind and let me try a bunch of the dishes before ordering which was huge. Shoutout to him because he nailed the recommendations. Both dishes were spicy but so flavorful and still hot even when I got home which I love. The ratio of chicken to peppers and onions was perfect. Chow mein was also solid I just wish there were a bit more noodles comp

Great spot for mini bowls! The noodles were springy and full of flavor, and the braised dishes were rich but not greasy. You can really tell the food is freshly made. Everything came out fast, and the staff was super nice. A solid go-to when you want something comforting and delicious.

Omg came to Tigawok because its a new fast & healthy Chinese restaurant next to omomo O really liked the interior & foods. Their oolong tea was refreshing as well. It was cool to know robots made our meals. The food were good 👍. I would definitely recommend the green bean egg plate, rice with pork, tomato & egg, orange chicken, kungpao, wonton, dumplings, steamed pork buns , mapo tofu * tasted mild * , their beef hunan spicy beef , cabbage, tiga cola chicken, xiao long baos, chiwmein , & the brussel sprout. The service was awesome as each person explained the menu so kindly & let us try samples. Each dish is less than $6 or $7 which was affordable despite eating in Irvine. Loved this chinese fast restaurant
